A Great Promise
All of GOD's creation changes; but GOD Himself never does. He is love. O, I'm so glad!
There is a "Time" change; "Seasons" change; "Leaves" change colors, leaves change leaves; "Trees" change trees. Always a little sad to me to see a healthy looking, tall gorgeous tree, for no apparent reason fall over and die. Living out in the country I hear them fall often. I did a study yesterday on the reasons they fall. I won't get into all of that now, but it sure was interesting. One ...reason a beautiful long standing tall tree falls is, it outgrows its roots. Isn't that something? Bible says, "Pride comes before the fall." If we take any credit for the good in us, or think more of ourselves than we ought to think, we could outgrow our roots also. These days, so many are teaching we need to love ourselves more. I believe GOD wants us to think on ourselves less, except to examine our own heart, if we are keeping the faith! He said, "What do you have that you did not receive?" He also said, "What I began in the Spirit, will you finish in the flesh?" and, "Look not only on your own interests, but on what interests others." In Psalms, David said, "Lord, my goodness doesn't extend to You; but to the excellent ones in whom all my delight is in." I believe when we do more good to others than we do our self, we are understanding why we are here. It's the first sign our delight is in The Lord. The reason I say that is, "If we love one another, GOD abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us." I John 4:12
I recently heard a person say, "I love GOD so much, and pray all the time!" In my spirit I heard the Scripture where Jesus said, "Why do you call Me "Lord, Lord" (pray all the time) but do not do the things I say?"
He said, If you love Me, keep My commands I give you. I John 3:16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us, and we ought also to lay our lives down for our brethren. In verse 18 He tells us not to just say, "I love you"; but to love "in deed and in truth. I Corinthians 13 teaches us how to love one another. I need to read that often. Here's a GREAT PROMISE: I John 3:22 "And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in His sight." So may we keep this in mind as we go about our day.
Just some thoughts I've been thinking this morning.
My heart is so full of thoughts.
