Abba & What It Means

Do you ever feel the need for a "Dad?" I do. In Israel, the Jewish children are running around calling their parents, "Abba" which means "Daddy" and "Imah" (pronounced "Ee-mah.") for "Mother." I love the Hebrew name for Daddy: Abba.
When Jesus was suffering for you in the Garden of Gethsemane, He cried out, "Abba Father, all things are possible with You; take away this cup from Me: nevertheless not what I will, but what You will." Mark 14:36.
Last night, I cried out "Abba" (Daddy) because I needed words of comfort. I needed someone who knows me like no other, who understands how I feel, and why.
My Abba Father, GOD came through and continues to minister to me this morning. O, I can feel His heart aching for the love He feels for you! He wants to hold you and console you, to hold you for a while without you running off in such a hurry. Your Abba Father in Heaven knows you better than anyone could, and yet He loves you with an undying, unquenchable love, like a fire that can not be put out.
C'mon, we all try to make it on our own, but we simply cannot. We start out at about age four saying, "I can do it by myself," and it's good we teach our children to "Butter their own corn" so to speak; but please remember, while you are teaching your children to be independent of you, teach them at the same time to turn their dependence on Abba Father. We can do nothing without His breath, His strength. I can tell when I run out of my own strength, and have to cry out, "Abba Father, I need Your strength to take over in me, because I've still got some things that have to be done." I hope you will recognize your need for a Daddy today and talk to Him about anything and everything a child would talk to a good Daddy about.
This morning I said to Him, "Abba, I have asked You for a miracle, and O how I long for it, for all things are possible with You; nevertheless not what I will, but what You will. I still will serve You with all that I have, and will love You as You do me...until my last breath, No Matter What, with Your help, through Christ Jesus, Amen.
