Gossip or Gospel?

A Gossip, according to good ole’ reliable Webster’s is “a person who habitually reveals personal or sensational facts”.
Now, don’t get the word “gos-sip” mixed up with “gos-pel.” One who shares the “gospel” is a person who always tells the truth, which is the “good news.” If you must gossip, why not gossip about David in the Bible? Did you know he prayed in the morning, in the afternoon, at evening, and even at midnight, or when he awoke in the wee hours? He didn’t have his little quiet time once a day with GOD. No, he involved GOD in all of his day- even in the night hours, he kept GOD on His mind. No, David was not a “stay-at-home Dad” that had hours of free time to take off and spend with the Lord. David was a king who had much responsibility and worked from morning till night, and knew he would need GOD in all of his decision making, and other choices. He trusted, not in his own leadership abilities, but he looked to GOD for His knowledge, wisdom, and guidance. David was a humble man.

Psalm 55:16- 20
As for me, I will call upon God,
And the Lord shall save me.
Evening and morning and at noon
I will pray, and cry aloud,
And He shall hear my voice.
He has redeemed my soul in peace from the battle that was against me,
For there were many against me.
God will hear, and afflict them,
Even He who abides from of old. Selah
Because they do not change,
Therefore they do not fear God.

Psalm 119:62
At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You,
Because of Your righteous judgments.

Father GOD, in Jesus’ Name, help us to learn from David, to be a man/woman with a humble heart, one who will realize our need for You in the morning, in the evening, and in afternoon. Give us a heart that will include You and be grateful to You in all things. That we wouldn’t ask You to bless our plans, but that we would seek Your plan and listen to Your will, then we’ll know we’ll be in the center of Your will, and that’s where the blessings are:
in the “secret place” of the Most High. Amen.
