He is Not a Mere Mortal
We teach our child to talk back to GOD later in years, if we allow them to talk back to us. Whew wee, that's frightening! I remember one of our children talking back to me one time. Oooo, that went all through me. I replied, "Did I ask you a question?" ": Then don't answer me if I didn't ask you anything."
It worked. Our children used to get so mad (It was a funny mad though) when I would ask the Lord for a funny come back to comments they would make. Ok, for instance, I got so tired of hearing them say, "SO!" They might ask, "Is it alright if I go to James's house?" I might say, "No, because his Mom's not home." If they say, "SO!" that would go all through me, so I asked "Lord, will You give me a good come back to that word "So" next time please?" He did, and the next time I heard, "So!" I said, "Sew a button on your underwear... that's what's "So." It worked. Now they use it on me as well as me using it, and it's hilarious when your children grow up to use the same stuff on you.
GOD takes talking back very serious! Here are Verses to help
us not do it:
Romans 9:19-21 You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did You make me like this," will it? Or does not the Potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for
honorable use and another for common use?
Why do you complain to Him that He responds to no one's words?
Does the ax raise itself above the person who swings it, or the saw boast against the one who uses it? As if a rod were to wield the person who lifts it up, or a club brandish the one who is not wood!
You turn things upside down, as if the Potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to the One who formed it, "You did not make me"? Can the pot say to the Potter, "You know nothing"?
"He is not a mere mortal like me that I might talk back to Him, that we might confront each other in court.
