New Word Game
The instant we were born-again, it’s like GOD pushed a “reset” button in our mind, and said, “Okay, start over; replace that wrong thinking, those untrue thoughts for what’s true.”
My husband and I had our friend on speaker phone the other day and we were going over things in our conversation about people’s lives we know around us who need a Touch, or a Word, or both from GOD. We were getting ourselves really sad about their situations and choices they had made that got them where they are today. The Lord put it on my heart we were thinking right: that we needed to put Philippians 4:8 into practice. It reads “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.”
So, I asked our friend if he wanted to play a game over the phone. He was stunned at first, but when he asked what game, and I said, “We are making a game up from Philippians 4 Verse 8,” he laughed and said, “Hey! Sounds good, okay.” They asked me to start it, so I began with the first word: “True.” Okay, so I had to think of something true, which is “Bob needs salvation.” (I changed the name of the person in this reality game.) It was someone else’s turn, next word is “noble” so that person says, “Jesus came to earth, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and took Bob’s sin penalty upon Himself on the Cross.” *Next word: “Just.” That person says, “If Bob confesses his sins, GOD is faithful and fair (just) to forgive Bob of his sins, and to cleanse him of all unrighteousness.” *Next word: “Pure.” That person says, “If I ask anything according to GOD’s will, I have it, so I ask Father for Bob’s salvation quickly in Jesus’ Name, thank You, Amen.” We continued the game and we were happy, and things were being accomplished because of it. It was a whole lot better than being burdened just talking about it, even just praying about it. When we thought on the solution, and The One Who alone can bring it about, then talked to Him about it, then the peace came, and stayed.
Hope this encourages someone!
