O, Empower Me!
Good Morning Dear Readers! I want to live blessed today of The Lord, don’t you?
Have you noticed, whatever you think on is what dominates how your day goes? I have.
Yesterday I ventured out to view someone else’s page and read a news article that so disturbed me, put knots in my stomach, made me cry, and I kept my mind focused on it for way too long. I was of absolutely no help to anyone if they had needed a Word of comfort or strength during that time; because I wasn’t obeying GOD when He says to “Rejoice in The Lord always.” I can see why he had to say it twice, “And again I say, rejoice.” That was for me, since it takes me a while for things to sink in.
I have noticed if I am complaining in my thoughts about my situation, or about someone’s faults, there went my peace, and my smile right out the window. Three times The Lord tells us “Do not fret” in Psalm 37 from vs. 1-8. He tells us “Do not fret because of evil doers, it only causes harm. And it does, to our spirit, to our peace, to our joy that draws people to Christ; it hinders our effectiveness for GOD.
Proverbs 8:34,35 (This is wisdom speaking) For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the Lord. Psalm 5:12 For you bless the righteous, (those who think right) O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.
Father, I don’t want to follow You afar off, like so many did in Jesus’ time, and now. I want to be Your disciple, and do the works Jesus did. Help me keep my thoughts in obedience to You, on things lovely, pure, true, honest, noble, and praise worthy. WOW! With so much of the opposite around, it’s difficult; but not any more difficult than it has ever been, so I commit my ways to you that my thoughts may be pleasing to You Father, in Jesus’ Name.
Lord, I would be Your disciple, and follow after Thee
Deny myself, take up my cross, and Thine forever be.
Father, here are my thoughts, my heart, and my soul
O, empower me!
And here is my will: may it dwell on the hill of the Cross at Calvary!
