O God, You are my God
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land...
Where there is no water.
I just want to stop here and tell you something that happened:
One of my favorite things to do in the mornings is, I go in the kitchen and turn on the coffee pot, then stand at the kitchen window and do stretching exercises while watching all the different species of birds all around the front yard. We have several bird houses right in front, and several bird feeders. We even have a whirley squirrely twirley thing hanging on the tree for the squirrels to come eat corn cobs on. It is funny to watch them too. Without going to another paragraph, I will just say here, one week we were gone on a trip, we got home, slept well and when I woke the next morning, out of habit, I went to the kitchen, turned on the coffee, stood at the sink and waited for the birds and squirrels to come. Hmm. I said, I waited for the birds and squirrels to come. I waited and waited for maybe ten whole minutes and saw absolutely zero activity in the yard. Since I saw none, I then looked around the yard for a predator that may would keep them away. Still nothing. Then, in my spirit, the Lord said, "Check out the feeders." I looked at every feeder that is usually filled with birds, and squirrels trying to get to the feed. Aha! The feeders were EMPTY!
That's when the Lord spoke so powerfully in my spirit and said, "My people return to empty sermons, empty relationships, empty "Bible studies" week after week. They used to get fed there, so they think they must remain loyal to the feeders; but the squirrels and the birds are smarter than many of My Own children, because they know they can't feed where there's no Seed!"
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your loving-kindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
Because You have been my help,
Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.
My soul follows close behind You;
Your right hand upholds me.
(Just a thought I was thinking this morning.)
