Sometimes we're caught off guard and a person might say something that throws us into a tail-spin; but we must keep our mouth shut if we cannot reply in the Spirit. What makes you think you always have to "SAY" something anyway? Luke 21:19 "In patience,
possess ye your soul."
Patience: the capacity to accept or tolerate trouble or suffering, without getting angry or upset. In other words, I keep my mouth shut, without complaining even in my thoughts; without murmuring. Patience is also: to forbear; that is you decide ahead of time to bear up under anything a person says or does, doesn’t say, or doesn’t do; to be tolerant; that is, the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. Be tolerant! To suffer someone’s behavior’s without becoming annoyed or anxious. If we’re not willing to do this, we cannot say, “I follow Jesus.” Jesus isn’t like that at all. Being patient hurts, requires suffering, dying to self. Doesn’t GOD want us to “decrease” so He can “increase” in us? GOD told us, if we are not walking in peace with all men, and being holy (our actions and words pleasing to GOD), "we will not see GOD!!"
If our Commander, GOD takes this serious, we had better!! Right?
Father GOD, There have been plenty of times I wanted to slap or slug or punch somebody. You know what a brat I am; but thank You, thank You for always nudging me to keep my witness, to follow Jesus, not what my flesh wants to do. Strengthen us, Your people in these times, so that others see Jesus, not some irritable, cranky, easily offended ninny people feel they have to walk on eggshells around.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
