Pressing in Close

Have you ever heard something come out of your mouth and the instant it did, you thought to yourself, "Hmm, I need to study this out so I won't say something I don't know anything about." While talking to the women at jail about Noah and the ark, I told them "GOD closed the door to the ark, and once it was closed, it was shut for good." I included these words, "Because, if it had been Noah who closed the door, h...e would probably have given in to the people who were banging on the outside and begging for them to open the door; then there would have been a stampede." Right when I said those words, I thought to myself, "Now wait a minute Dawn. Is man more merciful than GOD? No! Of course not; but man is more apt to give in to his emotions, than to fairness." My ministry partner reminded me, the people had 120 years of warnings, but laughed Noah to scorn. Maybe some thought they'd wait till the last minute, while others said they would wait to see if some rain even fell or not. I thought the other day about all the children that obeyed their parents and didn't take the warnings from the man of GOD to get in the boat. Are we leading our children toward the life-raft, or away from it on a daily basis, because we have had warning after warning. Jesus said in His Word, As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be when the Son of Man returns; "but first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation." Luke 17:25, 26. WOW! No wonder so many people we love reject us, because we come across as such "Jesus freaks" when we just want them to be onboard with us and not go to hell. Please don't let the negative behaviors of those of us who say we are "Christians" and don't have a clue as to what we are doing half the time.... don't let us keep you from knowing GOD and pressing in close to His Heart, because He's the One Who said from the Cross, "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do."
It's time to pack up every good thing that will fit in our heart, because that's all we'll be taking with us when He calls our name.
