Red Rover, Red Rover
GOD’s grace in Dawn Gwin 02-17-15
Did you ever play, “Red Rover, Red Rover, let Billy Bob (or whoever) come over?” HA! You always looked for the weakest link before taking off running to the other side.
I love what Bildad says about GOD in the book of Job! In Chapter 25 Verse 3 what a powerful statement when he says, “Is there any number in His armies?”
Nations rise against nations and ask themselves, “How many do they have on their side?”
When we walk in obedience, just think, we have a Mighty GOD on our side!! “Is there any number in His armies?” That sure makes me cry! I think about so many things here: If it had not been The Lord that was on my side, I would have perished in my affliction. Don’t you love Psalm 124?! Here is some of it: “If it had not been The Lord Who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive when their wrath was kindled against us. The waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul; then the swollen waters would have gone over our soul.
Blessed be The Lord Who has not given us as prey to their teeth. Our minds, our wills, and emotions have escaped just like a bird out of the snare of the hunters. My brothers and sisters, Jesus broke the trap, and we have escaped our enemies.
We are not helpless; for we have a Mighty Savior! Our help, (yours and mine) is in The Name of The Lord Who made heaven and earth. The Name of The Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into that Name, and are SAFE. Says so in Proverbs 18:10. I have had to run into that Name a few times, and each time, He came through. In short, I’ll tell you, I was driving one evening and took a short cut here in town. Right when I turned on an unfamiliar street, I started up a hill when five young men walked out in front of my van. The biggest one came over to my window and said with authority, “I’ll take over from here, I’ll give it back to you at the end of the block!” Immediately, the Scripture came to me, “The Name of The Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into IT, and are safe.” First I thought, “Whew! It’s a good thing we’re not depending on my goodness, but The Lord’s!” I said quietly (as I felt a little frozen at that moment)”Jesus.” The guy at my window didn’t have a clue what I was saying, but I said, “Lord, this would be a really good time for You to manifest that truth to me.” My window was down about an inch, I looked at the man and said, “No you won’t!” I said it calmly but with authority b/c I was believing somehow The Name of Jesus was going to do something.
We had a staring contest for some long seconds, then the guy gestured to the others, they all scattered, and I was SAFE, just like Jesus said. I hope you’ll run into His Name today.
