Showing How We Trust God
Have enjoyed this study in GOD's Word today... wanted to share: I Timothy 4:12, 13 GOD tells us to show other people what a Christian is like by our "words, in conversation, in our giving of time, heart, strength, and forgiveness. Also others recognize a Christian by the way we conduct our self, in faith, showing how we trust GOD, and in purity: not looking at the same seductive junk as a non-Christian would who hasn’t been set free from the power of sin yet.
In Luke 14:28-30 ...He lets us know we better make sure to count the cost before we just blurt out to GOD, "Yes, I surrender all to You GOD!” or, “Jesus, I will follow You anywhere and everywhere You lead me.” or, “GOD, I would never do that.”
II Timothy 2:3,4 says for us to “Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him Who has chosen him to be a soldier.
Speaking of building on our foundation, I love this! The Lord shows us how to build, in II Peter 1:4-13 giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue, knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things,
though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you.
