The Giant Sparrow
Chuck had never seen a duck until he was three years old:
The duck was sitting on top of the water and didn’t even look cold.
The little boy thought to himself, “I want to sit on the water too!”
So, he opened his bottom dresser drawer and pulled out his bathing suit.
He heard his Mama cooking breakfast and hurried and went and got her
Excitedly he said, “Come look, there’s a giant sparrow sitting on the water!”
“Can I go out there after I eat breakfast and change out of my pajamas?
I want to go and sit on the water with the big ole’ sparrow Mama.”
His Mama looked out and saw a duck on the lake out in the center,
And told him, “You can’t go out in your bathing suit little darling, it is winter!”
“And don’t forget, I have told you never to go in the water without us
O, and by the way, “That isn’t a sparrow, it is called, “a duck
Little Chuck trusted his Mama that she knew what was best;
And because he obeyed and stayed away from the water, he pleased GOD and was blessed.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
GOD’s grace in Dawn Gwin 05-11-15
In the story: "The Giant Sparrow" we learn that the parent knew what was best and was protecting her child from the dangers he couldn't see.
He was looking at things from his own understanding and would have drowned if he hadn't really heard and heeded what his Mother said. Our Father knows what is best; that is why it is very important for us to listen, and really HEAR/HEED what He is saying; because He sees the big picture and wants to protect us from drowning as we would if we lean on our own understanding.
Very important lesson I needed today!
