Let our Light Shine Brighter
Jesus' disciples came to Him privately and ask Him when the times of the end will come:
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:4-13
When Jesus said, "The love of many will grow cold," He wasn't talking about the children of GOD. That is the response of non-Christians (those who don't know GOD personally yet.) But children of the Most High GOD are not to love less; but more and more, and let our light shine brighter until the day Jesus returns. Above passage at the end of Verse 6 Jesus says, "See that you are not troubled." In John 14:1 Jesus tells us "Don't let your heart be troubled, you believe in GOD; believe also in Me."
Father GOD, I praise You for letting us know of things to come. We Your children are so blessed to live in a day when we are getting to see so much come to pass just like You said. At the same time, it is sad to see so many people walking away from the truth. Don't let us nor our children or grandchildren walk away, but toward the truth. You said nothing can be done against the truth, and that Your truth endures forever. May we keep our eyes on the truth, Jesus, on You, walking on the water, not looking to the storm that rages, but to where we are going and Who we are preparing ourselves for. May we love our fellowman, our spouses, our family more today than we ever have. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
